Step 1: Unpacking Your New Frameless Glass Shower Cubicle
- Begin by opening the box containing your new shower enclosure components. Place each component separately on the bathroom floor for easy access during installation.
- Prior to installation, turn off the water supply at the mains to ensure safety and prevent any unexpected water flow.
- Ensure that the shower tray has been properly installed before proceeding with the installation of the shower enclosure. This ensures a stable foundation for your enclosure.
- Before commencing installation, thoroughly inspect the shower area to ensure it is dry and free from any moisture or water accumulation on the walls, ensuring optimal conditions for installation.
Step 2: Leveling, Marking, and Attaching Shower Enclosure Brackets
- The vertical upright brackets play a crucial role in securely holding the shower enclosure in position above the shower tray. They are affixed to the wall using screws, providing a stable foundation for the enclosure frame.
- Before attaching the shower enclosure bracket to the wall, apply a bead of silicone along the backside of the bracket. This helps to create a watertight seal and enhances the stability of the fixture.
- Maintain a 3mm gap from the inside edge of the shower tray when positioning the bracket.
- To ensure the bracket is vertically aligned, utilize a spirit level. Carefully drill the necessary holes in the wall to securely fasten the bracket in place.
- Repeat the same process on the opposite side of the wall to ensure a symmetrical and balanced installation.
Step 3: Assembling the Frameless Glass Shower Cubicle
- Begin by placing one side of the fixed panel on a flat surface. Slide the bottom curved channel of the shower enclosure frame into position, ensuring a snug fit.
Caution: Handle the edges of the glass panel with care, as they are the most delicate part of the shower enclosure.
- Once the glass panel is securely seated in the bottom channel, insert the top curved channel and fasten the screws on both the top and bottom panels to secure it in place. Repeat this process for the panel on the opposite side.
- Enlist the assistance of another person to help lift and hold the frame in position during assembly for added safety and ease of installation.
Step 4: Positioning the Frameless Glass Shower Cubicle Frame
- Carefully maneuver the shower enclosure frame into the designated area, ensuring it aligns with the shower tray. Slide the ends of the fixed upright panels into the vertical brackets.
- Perform a visual inspection to ensure the bottom quadrant frame rests flat and level on the shower tray, without any gaps present.
- Once the frame smoothly fits into the brackets, securely lock it in place using screws to ensure stability.
- Verify that the outside curved channel of the frame runs parallel to the shower tray. If not, loosen the screws on the bottom side of one wall bracket only and make necessary adjustments. (Skip this step if a shower tray is not part of your setup)
Step 5: Preparing Sliding Shower Doors and Shower Door Rollers
- Begin by attaching rubber seals to the sides of the fixed glass panel, ensuring the flat part faces inward. Start at the bottom and work your way up, repeating the process on the opposite side.
- Install the handles onto the sliding glass panel, with the small handle positioned on the inside and the large handle on the outside.
- Attach rubber seals to the sides of the sliding glass panel, ensuring the flat part faces outward. Begin at the bottom and work your way up on both sides.
- Install the rollers on the top and bottom of the sliding panel securely. Lift the panel and insert the top rollers into the channel of the top curved frame.
- For the bottom rollers, gently push them downward until they clip into the channel of the bottom curved frame.
- Add rubber seals to the other side of the sliding panel for a complete seal.
Step 6: Quality Check and Adjustments
- Verify that the doors close smoothly without any gaps. If necessary, adjust the rollers on one side to align them perfectly and eliminate any gaps at the top or bottom.
- Ensure that sliding roller stops are installed at the desired positions to control the sliding range of the panel.
- Tip: Apply silicone to all areas where the fixed panels come into contact with the tray and the walls on the outside of the shower enclosure to create a waterproof seal.
- Allow the silicone to dry for 24 hours before using your new shower for optimal performance and sealing effectiveness.
